Federal Capital Territory Minister and Rainbow Coalition leader Nyesom Wike has asserted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) cannot secure victory in Rivers State during the upcoming general elections, claiming that electoral outcomes in the state will continue to be predetermined.
Speaking on Saturday, October 3 at a gathering organized by Uzugbani Ekpeye in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas, Wike dismissed the political prospects of his former ally and current ADC vice-presidential candidate, Chibuike Amaechi.
The minister challenged voters to assess candidates based on verifiable track records rather than political rhetoric, while pointing to Amaechi’s historical electoral performance since their political parting.
Recalling their past collaboration, Wike noted that he managed Amaechi’s successful 2011 gubernatorial campaign but argued that the former governor has since failed to secure meaningful electoral support independently.
“I was the DG of the campaign in 2011… Now, since I left him in 2011, after 2011, mention one election that he has ever won,” Wike said, referencing subsequent election cycles where Amaechi’s faction or preferred candidates failed to deliver the state.
“So, from 2011, when he became the second time governor, down to now, the result has been written, then let him forget it. The result will always be written; he will not win again.”
