Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has raised alarm about the circulation of fake products in Nigeria.
In a video she shared online, she noted an increase in the production and circulation of fake and harmful products. According to her, many food items, drinks, medicines, cosmetic products, and household products are now poorly produced, contaminated, harmful and mostly fake.

She said the circulation of fake products isn’t just a business problem, but a threat to human life. She urged parents and guardians to check expiry dates and NAFDAC numbers before buying products.
“Dear Nigerians, I am speaking to you today with a heavy heart about the circulation of fake products in our country. Every day, people buy food, drinks, medicines, cosmetics, household products, believing that they’re safe, but sadly, they are poorly produced, contaminated, harmful, and mostly fake. This isn’t a business problem; it’s a threat to human life. Imagine little children battling kidney failure.

In the comments, many of her colleagues applauded her for speaking up.
