Nollywood actor Laide Olabanji has urged Nigerians to reconsider their political choices ahead of the 2027 general election, as he renewed his support for Peter Obi.
Olabanji made his position known in a post shared on his Instagram page, where he questioned Nigerians who continue to support the return of the current government despite the economic challenges facing many citizens.
The actor referenced difficulties with electricity and the rising cost of fuel while making his case for a change in leadership.
He wrote, “You’ve not had light since and you can’t even afford to buy fuel and yet you want the current government to come back.
“If a Govt can destroy it, another Govt is ready to rebuild it. Sheu Shagari ruled for 4 years and destr0yed everything, Idiagbon came onboard and made Nigeria great again within 4 months.
“Lets give Peter Obi a chance to make the country great again.”
Olabanji has been increasingly vocal about his political views and has publicly backed Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election. In previous posts, he urged Nigerians to look beyond ethnic considerations when deciding who should lead the country.
His latest comment adds to the growing political conversation among Nigerian entertainers and other public figures ahead of the 2027 election.
