The creator of the viral Lagos Life game, Shalom Rayhamen, has revealed that the game generated $46,900 in revenue within just four days of its launch.
Rayhamen shared the figure as the browser-based life simulation continues to attract massive attention online, with players creating characters, securing virtual jobs, earning money and exploring a virtual version of Lagos.
The game launched on October 1 and crossed one million players within its first few days. Figures shared around the revenue update showed about 1.8 million total players, while more than 145,000 players were online simultaneously at its peak.
Rayhamen posted on X:
“We’ve earned $46,900 in revenue in 4 days 👑 🟢 145,443 players online 👀 8,614,591 visits today 👥 1,807,618 total players 🌍 16,584,859 visits all time #LagosLife”
The game has quickly become one of the biggest talking points on Nigerian social media, largely because of its familiar portrayal of everyday Lagos life, including jobs, rent, transportation, socialising and money struggles.
The revenue figure was shared by Rayhamen and has been widely reported, although the game’s public dashboard figures are self-reported and have not been independently audited.
The development has also triggered conversations among Nigerians, with some expressing surprise at how quickly the game has generated money, while others questioned the sustainability of the trend and whether players can convert the virtual money they earn into real cash.
