A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly st@bbing a 25-year-old customer to de@th in Jigawa State.

Lawisi Safiyanu is accused of st@bbing a man identified as Muhammad Abba following a dispute over ₦500 balance from the purchase of a mobile phone.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, at Chamo village in Dutse Local Government Area.

Police say the victim bought a mobile phone from the suspect for ₦1,500 but paid only ₦1,000, leaving an outstanding balance of ₦500.

This led to a disagreement, which escalated, with Safiyanu allegedly using a knife to st@b Abba.

Abba was rushed to Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital in Dutse for treatment, but he d!ed while receiving treatment.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident and said the suspect was arrested shortly after.

Police also recovered the knife allegedly used in the attack as an exhibit.

The command says investigation has been completed and the suspect has been charged to court to face the law.
