Nollywood actress, producer and makeover artiste Adewumi Fatai has expressed frustration over what she described as inconsistent working hours among some government workers.
The actress shared a video on Instagram recounting her recent experience while trying to retrieve her National Identification Number (NIN), which she said had been suspended without explanation.
According to Adewumi, she visited a NIN office at about 3:20pm but was surprised to discover that the officials had already closed for the day.
She recalled experiencing a similar situation previously when she visited a Local Government office to obtain her YouTube PIN, prompting her to question the actual closing time of government offices.
The mother of one appealed to the relevant authorities to investigate the situation and ensure that government offices maintain clear and consistent working hours so members of the public can plan their visits accordingly.
Expressing her disappointment, Adewumi wrote:
“Walai I am angry gan ni o
“I went to the NIN office today to retrieve my NIN because it was suddenly suspended. I honestly don’t even know why, and now all my SIMs are blocked, meaning I can’t receive normal calls or text messages.
“After having the same NIN for all these years, I got there around 3:20pm and was told they had already closed. I thought these offices close around 4pm or even 5pm?
“The same thing happened when I went to the Local Government office for my YouTube PIN. So please, what time exactly are government workers supposed to close? Because if you close earlier than the official closing time, why not clearly state the actual time you stop attending to people?
“Honestly, this is frustrating. People spend money on transportation, leave their businesses and other responsibilities, only to get there and be told, “We have closed.”
“Abeg, all the people in charge should look into this and help us summon these workers. At least let there be clear and consistent working hours so citizens know exactly when to come,”
