Political commentator Waga Gee has urged people of Ebonyi State to support Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election, warning that they would be the ones to suffer if the former Anambra State governor is not elected.
In a video message directed at Ebonyi voters, Waga Gee said he was making the appeal because some people in the state were allegedly being made to believe that Obi “did nothing” for the people of Ebonyi during his time as governor of Anambra State.
“If You’re From Ebonyi State, This Video Is For You. Because It’s Looking Like You Guys Are Being Brainwashed That Peter Obi Did Nothing For The People Of Ebonyi State When He Was Governor Of Anambra State,” he said.
He argued that Obi had little personally to gain from winning or losing the election because, according to him, the former governor was already financially comfortable.
“Know This: If Peter Obi Wins Or Loses This Presidential Election, He Has Nothing To Gain. He’s a Made Man.”
Waga Gee also questioned the decision of politicians to keep their children abroad while seeking political power in Nigeria.
“David Umahi’s Children Are All Citizens Of The UK, US Or Canada. Ask Where The Children Of All The Politicians In Ebonyi State And Even Anambra State Are. Soludo’s Children Are In The UK.”
He then challenged Ebonyi voters to consider the achievements of the current administration before deciding whether President Bola Tinubu deserves another term.
“What Has Tinubu Done For The People Of Ebonyi State In The Last 4 Years? And You Think He Has Anything To Offer In Another 4 Years?”
According to him, the consequences of the election would ultimately affect ordinary Nigerians rather than the political elite.
“It’s Me And You That Will Suffer The Consequences If Peter Obi Is Not Elected.”
Waga Gee also questioned why some Igbo voters remain opposed to Obi despite claims that people from other parts of the country are willing to support him.
“Ask Yourself: Why Is It That Northerners Are Ready To Give Peter Obi Their Votes, Yet You, As An Igbo Man, Are Saying Peter Obi Is Not Qualified To Be President?”
His comments have since generated reactions online, with some social media users agreeing with his appeal to Ebonyi voters.
@Gidzy_updated: “Leave them na we and them over terrorists and hardship”
@chinemelumma: “Dave Umahi cannot convince Ebonyi people to vote against Peter Obi.”
