Iran has signaled that it is preparing for another round of war with the United States, issuing public threats against Washington and its allies in an effort to deter President Donald Trump from restarting the conflict.
Over the past month, Iranian military commanders have intensified public warnings claiming that Iran has built large stockpiles of new weapons ready to be deployed beyond the region if hostilities resume. Iranian officials have floated options that include cutting undersea internet cables, striking AI data centers, and targeting regional oil and gas facilities.
“The world will be amazed,” Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi said. “We have new targets that have not yet been attacked.”
Nearly nine months after the US and Israel launched operations against Iran, the conflict has stagnated into a stalemate.
Both sides have claimed victory, Tehran citing its survival and Washington highlighting damage inflicted on the regime, while the Trump administration continues testing economic and military measures to force capitulation.
“The war is not over,” Mohebbi added. “The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has prepared itself for a long-term war.”
While military commanders signal readiness, ordinary civilians in Tehran are bracing for potential strikes. Residents report stocking up on water, power banks, and basic supplies amid widespread expectations that bombardment could resume at any moment.
“Every single day and every night, we’re waiting for the bombing to start again,” a 70-year-old Tehran resident said. “I’ve charged all my power banks, stocked up on water, and got everything ready, because the attacks could start again at any moment, any day.”
A mother of two questioned the rationale behind a renewed military push, stating: “I would like to know exactly what else the US is planning to bomb? They couldn’t even take [the Iranian leadership] out. You couldn’t negotiate either. So, what’s the point of starting another war?”
Meanwhile, US military planners have developed new strike options including the potential deployment of the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB) targeting Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities should the White House order a resumption of combat operations.
In response, Iranian army commander Alireza Sheikh dismissed the reports as political intimidation. “These are propaganda tools intended to intimidate the Iranian people. The Iranian people are the father of all bombs,” Sheikh said.
