Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has warned that the team must finish within the top five spots in the Premier League this season.
Neville was speaking on Sky Sports, following the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw at Leeds on Sunday.
The result means that Michael Carrick’s men have failed to win their last six fixtures in all competitions.
It also leaves United languishing in 13th place in the league table after seven games.
Neville has now warned that his former club cannot afford another season out of the UEFA Champions League.
“I would say fourth would be a birdie, fifth would be par, and sixth would be a bogey,” he said.
“But they can’t finish outside the top five, because then you’re missing out on Champions League and it becomes a vicious circle.”
