Nollywood actress Bidemi Kosoko is celebrating her 40th birthday today, October 21, with heartfelt appreciation for her father and an emotional reflection on the absence of her late mother.
The actress shared a video of herself dancing as she marked the special milestone, revealing that her father was the first person to call her at exactly midnight.
According to Bidemi, her father showered her with prayers and blessings during the call, making the moment particularly special. However, the experience also brought tears to her eyes as she remembered her late mother, who is no longer alive to celebrate the milestone with her.
Despite the pain of her mother’s absence, Bidemi expressed gratitude to her father for standing by her and taking on both parental roles in her life.
The actress’s birthday celebration has therefore become more than just a milestone, as she reflects on the love, sacrifices and support her father has continued to give her over the years.

“I woke up this morning with so much joy in my heart! Today, I am 40 and grateful!
The first call I got at exactly 12 AM was from my dad, showering me with prayers and blessings.
At that moment, tears filled my eyes.
My mum is no longer here to celebrate with me, and I miss her so much every day, but God has been faithful. Even in the absence of my mum, my dad has been everything – both a father and a mother to me. He never left any gap; he stood by me, supported me, and loved me unconditionally.
