Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has picked the player to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or on Monday.
According to Hargreaves, Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane will win the Ballon d’Or in London because he edges other contenders like Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé.
“All these players [Yamal, Mbappé and Kane] deserve to win the Ballon d’Or,” Hargreaves said, as quoted by Football on TNT Sports.
“I think if Messi had won the World Cup, he probably would have got the Ballon d’Or. So think there are four or five players in there [Ballon d’Or race], but I think Harry Kane probably just edged them, for me.”
Kane had a brilliant campaign for club and country last season, scoring 73 goals in all competitions.
The former Tottenham Hotspur captain also won both the Bundesliga title and the European Golden Boot.
