Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has called for greater transparency regarding the health conditions of Nigeria’s leaders, insisting that the country needs leaders whose medical fitness can be verified.
Sowore made the statement while expressing concerns about the health status of those occupying the country’s highest political offices.
According to him, Nigeria should not allow the presidency to become a place where leaders receive medical treatment, stressing the importance of having leaders who are physically fit to discharge their responsibilities.
“Nigeria must stop using its Presidency to treat sick people. A vibrant country like Nigeria needs leaders whose health conditions are verifiable,” he said.
His remarks have renewed attention to the issue of presidential health transparency and the ability of political leaders to effectively carry out their duties.
