Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick, is on the brink of losing his job after the club lost 2-0 to Chelsea.
The Red Devils went into Saturday’s early kick-off needing to win, as they hovered dangerously over relegation places.
On the other hand, the Blues needed to bounce back from their Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Liverpool in midweek.
United thought they had gone in front in the first half, but Bryan Mbeumo’s goal was ruled out for offside.
After the break, Chelsea raised their energy and went in front, thanks to Morgan Rogers’ solo effort.
Lisandro Martinez was sent off for a foul in the area, and Cole Palmer converted the penalty to seal the win.
The win takes Chelsea above Liverpool into the top four, while United could find themselves in the bottom three at the end of today.
