Toluwanisings and wife

According to reports online, the widow has agreed to have her husband buried at his residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.

A close associate and colleague of the deceased, Lanre Alewilese, disclosed this development in a video shared online.

Toluwanising’s widows and his family have disagreed over his final resting place.

A few days ago, a representative of the family, while speaking to the press, said that if the late singer were buried in a cemetery, his remains would be exhumed and buried according to how they desire. The family representative added that they have decided to bury him in his family home in Oyo State and bury him beside his late mother.

Recall that the singer had passed away in the early hours of 14th October, 2026.

Following his death, his family has gone into disagreement with his wife over his burial location.

His father said he wanted his son to be buried in the house he built in Ibadan or taken to Ikirun, where his late mother was buried. Unfortunately, his wife denied his request and preferred a cemetery or church burial ground.

His paternal uncle, Lawal Ademola, released a statement outlining when and where the singer would be buried. He said the family was prepared to cover mortuary costs for as long as the process takes, and the burial must take place at his home, where his wife and children reside.

Toluwani’s uncle said his wife refused to bury him at the house, and they suggested the family’s house, which she also refused, saying it was far.

Amid the clash with his wife, the family had demanded that no burial proceed until a full investigation was carried out. His uncle had called on the government, community leaders, and law enforcement authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Weighing in on it, Do2dtun said burying the dead in a residential area is an archaic and primītive method of burial. He explained that waking up to a grave most of the time will increase anxiety and unending thoughts, and questioned if the singer would have been rented in the house if he had rented it.

Wale Jana said the house the late singer built before his death is his biggest investment and shouldn’t be tied down. Wale said that if he had 3 houses or more, he would have had the luxury of being buried in one of them, but he shouldn’t be buried in the only house he built.

Kudirat Ogunro said burying people at one’s home isn’t a good idea, as she questioned who would want to buy a house with a burial ground if the children decide to sell it.
