The vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has thrown a challenge to Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, to make his academic credentials public if he has any.
Amaechi’s challenge came after Oshiomhole called him “shallow” and “unreliable.”
He spoke during an interview on Rapid TV where he was asked to respond to the recent attacks from Oshiomhole on his political stance and credibility.
Recall that Oshiomhole, in an interview on TVC, had described Amaechi as shallow and unreliable, saying he contradicted himself by attacking the All Progressives Congress, APC, and President Bola Tinubu after he had earlier supported the party.
The former governor also accused Amaechi of earlier claiming that Atiku Abubakar stole the ADC presidential ticket and dragging him to court over it, only to turn around to become his running mate.
In his reaction, Amaechi said he was disappointed with Oshiomhole’s comments, stressing that both of them were governors at the same time and were political equals.
“He said I’m shallow, but I hold degrees in Law and Literature, Master’s degrees in both fields, and a certificate from the University of London. I also have a master’s degree from King’s College London, and I’m pursuing a master’s degree in Global Political Economy. Tell him to show his certificate if he has any,” Amaechi said.
He further said Oshiomhole is still angry that he led the group that removed him as APC national chairman, adding that he does not regret the action.
