A man identified as Daha Adamu Maikwano has been murdered in a bandit attack weeks to his wedding in Zamfara State.
Daha and his fiancee, Saffiya Sirajo Uba, were scheduled to marry on December 26, 2026.
Unfortunately, his life was cut short by armed bandits who ambushed him while he was returning home after shopping at Kuncin Kalgo market in Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the attackers also made away with his motorcycle.
His friend and fiancee’s brother, Ahmad Uba, confirmed the sad news in a Facebook post on Wednesday, November 4.
“Daha Adamu is a friend of mine, he was even engaged to my sister Saffiya Sirajo Uba, they were to be married soon,” he wrote.
“We always talked about the situation of nowadays and our future. We once had a conversation about how tough this life is. To cut the story short, he said to me,
Ahmad, a rayuwan nan da muke ciki, rufin asirin mutum shine ka nemi ilimi da kuma kudi masu albarka. Duk irin wahalar da za ka sha, wasu sun sha ta ko sama da ita kuma daga karshe sun cimma nasara. Saboda haka dole mu yi hakuri mu jajirce domin goben mu da karshe mu su yi kyau. Cikeda murmushi a fuskarsa yana zolayata, yana cewa me gida Ahmad, ina kiranshi da Oga Daha.
“Allah sarki, not knowing that he won’t be there for the future he was seeing in his head.
“This evening, Daha was murdered by gunmen/bandits on his way back home from Kuncin Kalgo market in Tsafe.
“It’s so heartbreaking to lose such a young, courageous and honourable man. Indeed from Allah we came and to Him we shall return.
“Ya Allah, forgive Daha Adamu, have mercy on him, and make Jannah his final home.
“May Allah give his family and loved ones the strength to bear this loss, and may He give Saffiya the strength to carry this burden. And we pray may Al-Hakim provide another courageous and God-fearing man who will take good care of her, Amin.
“We appeal to the Federal Government, Zamfara State Government and all security agencies, please do more to secure our areas, especially Tsafe communities. We deserve to live in peace and harmony.”
