Former Real Madrid star Steve McManaman has expressed concern for Arsenal attackers Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz.
Following Arsenal’s 2-1 midweek UEFA Champions League win against Slavia Prague, McManaman voiced sympathy for Gyokeres and Havertz, saying Mikel Arteta’s tactical approach leaves the forwards frequently “blamed” when the team plays more cautiously.
“I do feel sorry for Arsenal forwards sometimes because they are not an entertaining team like Barcelona,” McManaman said as quoted by Metro UK.
“They defend very deep as a whole, Gyokeres and Havertz sometimes get the blame because of that. It is the midfielders and the defenders that we talk about.”
Arsenal will clash with Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday at Emirates Stadium and they currently sit at the top of the table with 24 points.
