Ryan Alebiosu will remain with the Super Eagles despite picking up an injury that initially put his participation for the rest of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in doubt, NEWSUNPLUG reports.

The Blackburn Rovers defender copped the injury in the Super Eagles’ last group game against the Cranes of Uganda.

Alebiosu lasted the entire 90 minutes on the pitch in the encounter.

The 22-year-old underwent a scan on Wednesday to ascertain the severity of the injury.

Alebiosu will be sidelined for a couple of weeks, and not one month as initially reported, according to Blackburn Xtra.

The right-back could still play for Nigeria in the tournament depending on how far they go in Morocco.

Eric Chelle’s side will take on the Mambas of Mozambique in the Round of 16 next week Monday.
