Tanzanian music star Harmonize has announced a TSh 10 million cash reward for Taifa Stars if they manage to defeat Nigeria in today’s AFCON 2025 qualifier

Harmonize shared the message through his Instagram Story, where he expressed strong belief in the national team’s ability to win. In the video, he said he respects Nigeria as a strong team but insisted that Tanzania has only one option going into the match, to win. He wished the players good luck and promised the cash reward if they pull off the victory.

The match will see Nigeria, three time AFCON champions and runners up at AFCON 2023, begin their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign against Tanzania on Tuesday, 23 December, in Fez, Morocco. Nigeria are coming into the game seeking redemption after failing to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite having a highly rated squad.

Tanzania, on the other hand, are making their fourth AFCON appearance and have qualified for back to back tournaments for the first time. Although Taifa Stars have never gone beyond the group stage, the team heads into the match with renewed ambition following recent coaching changes.

Ahead of the tournament, the Tanzania Football Federation dismissed head coach Hemed Suleiman and appointed Miguel Gamondi, who will lead the team during the AFCON 2025 campaign
