Wilfred Ndidi, captain of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, has insisted that Eric Chelle’s men will miss former captain, William Troost-Ekong.

Ndidi was named the new Super Eagles captain yesterday after Troost-Ekong recently retired from international football.

The former Leicester City star hailed the former Watford player as outspoken leader.

Ndidi told the Super Eagles media, “Troost-Ekong stands for the Nigeria team, I admire him a lot and how outspoken he is.

“Everyone in the Super Eagles squad looks up to him. I’ve learned a lot from him.

“We also spoke a couple of weeks ago, so I feel like Troost-Ekong is still part of the team and he is going to be missed.”
