Super Eagles right-back, Bright Osayi-Samuel has hailed defenders Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Bruno Onyemaechi and himself following Nigeria’s AFCON semi-final defeat to Morocco.

The Birmingham City star said the Super Eagles back-four gave an ‘amazing’ performance against the AFCON host country.

Osayi-Samuel, who said he was proud of Eric Chelle’s side, also admitted that penalties are all about luck.

The Birmingham City star described the defeat as ‘very painful’.

“It’s very painful to lose. I think we played very well. The back-four [Bassey, Ajayi, Bright and Bruno] defense was amazing. I am proud of the team,” Osayi-Samuel said at his post-match interview after the game.

“The manager said he was proud of the team. It’s painful that we lost the penalties, but penalties are all about luck.”\

NEWSUNPLUG reports that Morocco defeated Nigeria 4-2 on penalties following a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.

Samuel Chukwueze and Onyemaechi saw their penalty kicks saved by Morocco goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou.
