Anybody can record police officers on duty. Police officers have been warned against checking the phones of Nigerians- Lagos Police boss Tijani Fatai says

The Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, says anyone is free to record a police officer carrying out his duty.

During an interview with News Central. the Lagos police boss also reiterated a standing order against police officers searching the phones of Nigerians.

‘’We do not entertain any fear of anyone recording us. You can record us and we can record you as well. Anybody can record a support system at his duty post, in as much as the police officer is doing the right thing. He has nothing to fe ar recording, Anybody can record us while carrying out our lawful duty.

Our men have been warned not to search any phone of any individual.”
