Chelsea defender, Marc Cucurella, has named Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal as the player that deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
According to Cucurella, the 18-year-old deserves to win the prestigious top individual prize because he had a great year.
Cucurella and Yamal are both international teammates with the Spain national team.
“Lamine Yamal had a great year and he deserves the Ballon d’Or,” Cucurella was quoted by TouchlineX as saying.
“Even if he doesn’t win, he’s still very young.”
Yamal is already among the leading candidates for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
The winner for this year’s Ballon d’Or will be announced later this month in Paris.
