Bandits abduct woman and her 2-year-old daughter in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has launched a manhunt following the abduction of a woman and her two-year-old daughter in Funakaye Local Government Area.

The incident was reported on Sunday,February 2,2026 at about 8:30 a.m. at Ribadu Police Outstation by Alhaji Umaru of Iyola Village, Ribadu Ward.

According to the sourcss, the victims, Inna Wuro Alhaji Umaru, 42, and her daughter, Goggo Alhaji Umaru, 2, were taken by six armed men who stormed their residence at about 2:45 a.m. and fled to an unknown location.

“The scene was visited immediately, and Divisional Patrol Team, Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Vigilante Group and Hunters were mobilized. Efforts are being intensified to rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators,” the command said.

Investigation into the incident has commenced.
