Bandits have attacked Lata Nna community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, k!lling a woman and abducting a resident.
The heavily armed assailants stormed the community on Sunday morning, August 2, 2026 and opened fire, causing panic among residents.
It was gathered that several villagers fled into nearby bushes for safety while some others sustained injuries.
Residents who spoke on the incident lamented the absence of security personnel during the attack, accusing authorities of failing to provide adequate protection despite repeated appeals over growing security threats in the area.
A resident said the woman was k!lled when she went behind the village to fetch firewood.
The latest attack comes barely a day after a resident identified as Mohammed Abubakar Ndakpada Lata was abducted by suspected bandits while returning from his farm, with reports that his abductors demanded N100 million ransom for his release.
Security authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
