She said, “We go to church together, we attend events together, my life is not as private as people think. In the events I organize, my husband is always there.”

“For clarity, my husband is not a secret. People who know me, know him. And for me, that’s enough. Like, I don’t know why I will sit down and be thinking, what am I proving?”

Club World Cup: They’ve Thiago Silva – Cucurella warns Chelsea ahead of Fluminense clash

Chelsea defender, Marc Cucurella has warned the Blues ahead of their Club World Cup quarter-final tie with Fluminense on Tuesday.

“We have watched some of their games. They’ve very good players, they are very determined and they’ve Thiago Silva,” the Spain international said.

  • #Chelsea must raise £60m in sales to register players for Champions League

#Chelsea must raise £60m in sales to register players for Champions League

Chelsea must raise over £60 million in player sales before they will be allowed by UEFA to register new players for next season’s competition, the UK Times reports.

The Blues are being forced into a balancing act due to UEFA’s financial regulations.

Despite already earning around £60 million from their Club World Cup run, Chelsea are in a race against time to offload players or risk being unable to field their summer signings in European competitions.

This comes on the back of a record-breaking fine from UEFA last week.

Despite the big payout from their Club World Cup run, that money cannot be used to offset their Champions League registration balance.

UEFA’s ‘List A’ requirement means Chelsea must ensure income from sales covers the cost of registering any new players.

As it stands, the likes of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr, who all arrived this summer, cannot play in UEFA competitions unless Chelsea’s incoming fees outweigh their outgoing costs.

Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana are also yet to be registered on List A.

Man abducts and k!lls his colleague after collecting N300,000 ransom in Delta

Police have arrested one Moses for abducting and k!lling his 38-year-old colleague, Victor Ochei, after collecting a N300,000 ransom.

The victim was laid to rest on Friday, July 4, 2025, at his residence in Umunede in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect, from Kogi State, resides in Umunede and had been working with Victor in an oil mill.

It was said that Moses strategically and deceitfully abducted the tricenarian on Sunday, June 29, 2025, and led him to a bush in Ute-Okpu where he allegedly k!lled Victor and covered his lifeless body with palm fronds.

The abductor deceitfully took Victor to an unknown palm tree plantation in Ute-Okpu, and showed him some of the palm fruits.

It was said that while Victor was looking at the palm fruits at the palm tree, the miscreant smote him on the back of his head with a stick, which eventually led to his passing away.

It was also learned that the accused man used Victor’s phone to call the victim’s relatives after killing him and demanded a 10 million naira ransom.

Akure s3x workers decry d3ath of colleague over N15,000 refund, seek protection

S3x workers in Akure, the Ondo State capital, have expressed deep sorrow and frustration following the d3ath of a colleague during a dispute with a male client over N15,000.

They have called on both the government and the brothel owners to establish safety protocols and provide health coverage to prevent such tragic incidents from recurring.

LIB reported that the incident occurred at a brothel in the Cathedral area of Akure, where the deceased was reportedly engaged by a male customer for an overnight session. read here

Eyewitnesses revealed that the client paid N15,000 but later became aggressive when his expectations were not met.

A close friend of the deceased, who works at another brothel and requested anonymity, told the state-owned publication, Hope Newspaper, that the victim was not feeling well on the night of the incident.

“She wasn’t really okay that day, but she still agreed to the customer’s request. After he (the customer) paid N15,000 for overnight s3x, he started struggling with her the next morning when he felt dissatisfied. Others intervened and pleaded with him to calm down,” the friend said.

After leaving the scene, the man reportedly returned, demanding a refund. By then, the lady was very weak, and attempts to access her phone to process a refund failed, as no one knew her password.

“We begged him to come back later, hoping she would regain full consciousness. But when he returned again, we had to call the police to handle the situation.

“If my friend had health insurance, she could have gone to the hospital immediately when she started feeling sick,” the friend lamented. “We don’t have any form of insurance, and we face health and safety risks daily.”

Another colleague also spoke to the publication, calling on the government to take steps to ensure their protection.

“I don’t like this job; it drains me physically and emotionally. We need rules that protect us and systems where we can report abusive clients before things get out of hand,” she said.

“That man clearly wanted more from her. We found only used condoms in the room. If we had proper regulations, this might not have happened.”

The s3x workers are now urging both the government and brothel owners to put safety measures in place and provide health coverage to prevent further tragedies.

Speaking with another colleague, who gave her name as Patricia Uwonkolo, she said, “We don’t have any choice but to make sure we use something. We must use [protection], na,” she said.

“The only way out is to give ourselves medical support because no one else will care for us. So, we developed a plan to ensure drug use is controlled. Of course, nobody wishes to become an addict.

“Sometimes we use natural herbs. There is always stigma and trauma if we do not satisfy our customers. So, we use drugs to enhance our performance in bed, we need them to keep up.

“We’ve also collaborated with charity groups that support women in s3x work. They give us medication to help with treatment and care,” she added.

When approached for a comment on the death of one of her workers and her reaction to the situation, the brothel owner declined comment, saying, “I am not in the mood to say anything, please. If you want information, kindly go to the police.”

The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, stated that an investigation is ongoing.

“The suspect reportedly hired fellow youths to retrieve the N15,000 from the prostitute. When the police arrived, three of his accomplices were arrested along with him, while others fled. They are all being investigated,” Olushola said.
