A suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP member has surrendered to troops of the Nigerian Army in Borno State.

The suspect, identified as Liman Mudo, aged 27, surrendered on April 25, 2026 at about 3:46 p.m. to troops of 3 Battalion (Mechanised) in Gamboru Ngala.

According to security analyst, the individual hails from Suwaa village in Bama Local Government Area of the state.

Following his surrender, the ex-combatant was immediately profiled and documented in line with standard procedures.

The general security situation across the theatre of operations remains calm but unpredictable, while troops’ morale and operational effectiveness were said to be satisfactory, Zagazola reported.

Military authorities continue to encourage surrender and disarmament as part of ongoing efforts to degrade terrorist capabilities in the North-East region.
