Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George is confident his team can compete with team’s in their CAF Champions League group, NEWSUNPLUG reports.

The Port Harcourt club will face defending champions Pyramids FC of Egypt, Morocco’s RS Berkane, and Power Dynamos of Dynamos of Zambia in Group A.

Rivers United will be making their maiden appearance in the group stage of the competition.

Pyramids FC and RS Berkane, who won the CAF Confederation Cup last season are overwhelming favourites to pick the first two spots in the group.

Finidi claimed facing top clubs on the continent will bring out the best in his players.

“It’s extra motivation for the players, having this platform on the big stage. I think it’s going to bring a lot of expectations and a lot of confidence for the players. They are all looking forward to using this platform to showcase what they have,” he told the club’s media.
