Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick, has warned his players not to fight for him, but for the club.
Carrick stated this at his post-match interview after Man United’s 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday.
“They [Man United players] should not be fighting for me, absolutely not for me,” Carrick said after Como defeated the Red Devils in Italy.
“This is not about playing for me personally, but about playing for this football club. This is the responsibility that comes with wearing this jersey,” he stated.
Carrick’s side will take on Bournemouth in the Premier League in their next match this weekend.
