A woman was paraded by members of her community for taking her married daughter to get an ab0rtion.

In videos shared online, the woman from Ihunowere in Nsukka, Enugu State, is seen with palm fronds tied around her waist while holding a gong with which she went around the community to announce what she had done.

As she made the announcement, people screamed in shock and booed her.

Her daughter also walked alongside her as they did the walk of shame.

According to reports, the woman’s daughter married last year and when Christmas came, her husband did not give anything to her family. When Easter came and he also did not send foodstuff to her family, the woman confronted her son-in-law.

The woman’s son explained that he’s financially down and could not afford to give them food items.

The woman reportedly then sent for her married daughter to come home. She returned pregnant and her mother allegedly took her to get an ab0rtion.

The woman admitted to this while being paraded around the community by Ihunowere youths.

According to Tower FM Nsukka, the mother was told to pay the son-in-law 1 million naira for damages and perform funeral rites for the ab0rted baby.
