Cristiano Ronaldo has officially tied the knot with his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez, bringing an end to years of speculation surrounding their plans to get married.
The football superstar announced the news on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, through his Instagram page. Ronaldo shared an intimate photo showing his hand intertwined with Georgina’s, with both sporting matching wedding rings.
He kept the announcement brief, captioning the post:
“C❤️G.”
According to reports, the couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Cascais, a picturesque coastal town near Lisbon, Portugal.
Their five children were reportedly in attendance as Ronaldo and Georgina celebrated the special occasion together, Sky Sports reported.
Ronaldo and Georgina began their relationship publicly in 2016, and their romance has remained in the spotlight ever since. Over the years, the couple have built a family together and frequently shared glimpses of their life with fans.
The pair eventually announced their engagement, with Georgina displaying an oval-shaped diamond ring that was widely estimated to be around 35 carats.
They reportedly got married exactly a year after confirming their engagement.
Interestingly, Ronaldo had previously spoken about his plans for the wedding. In November 2025, the Portuguese forward suggested that he hoped to marry Georgina after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He had even joked about wanting Portugal’s World Cup trophy to be part of the celebrations.
However, that particular wish did not come to pass after Portugal’s campaign ended in the round of 16 with a defeat to Spain.
Nevertheless, Ronaldo and Georgina went ahead with their long-awaited celebration, marking a major milestone in their relationship.
Ronaldo, 41, remains one of football’s most decorated players. The Portuguese legend has won the prestigious Ballon d’Or five times during his illustrious career.
