Diego Simeone Gives Update On Alvarez’s Injury

Diego Simeone has reassured Atlético Madrid supporters that Julian Alvarez will be available for the crucial second-leg clash against Arsenal.

The Argentine was speaking at the post-match interview after the first leg against the Premier League leaders. According to Diego Simeone, he does not want to entertain any negative concerns about the fitness of his fellow countryman he is sure that Alvarez will be available for the game at the Emirates.

Simeone revealed that the striker would undergo further medical assessments to determine the extent of the problem. However, the Atlético boss struck an optimistic tone, suggesting that the situation may not be as serious as initially feared and that early indications point toward a minor issue rather than a significant setback.

What happened to Julian Alvarez?

Álvarez was forced off late in 99the game, Simeone confirmed the striker will undergo medical tests but sounded optimistic about the situation, saying.

What did Simeone say about Alvarez’s injury?

“Julián Álvarez will play on Tuesday against Arsenal and Giuliano will be available too. I know the players, I absolutely do not see them being out of th semi-final return leg”.

The first leg ended 1-1 between both sides which leaves room for an entertaining second leg at the Emirates on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
