Political commentator Isaac Fayose has sparked debate online following a viral video in which he questioned whether recent security challenges in Oyo State could be connected to political developments in the state.

Reacting to reports of the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in parts of Oyo State, Fayose pointed to remarks he claimed were previously made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

According to Fayose, Wike had allegedly declared: “I will put fire in your state, Governor Seyi Makinde, I will put fire in Oyo State.”

The commentator argued that the timing of the kidnapping incident appeared suspicious, claiming it occurred around a period when Governor Seyi Makinde was preparing for a major political engagement.

Fayose suggested that the sequence of events deserved closer attention, alleging that another remark attributed to Wike was made shortly before the abduction.

“Three days ago, this same Wike mocked Governor Seyi Makinde that should be, I told you, I will put fire in your state,” he said.

He further questioned what he described as a troubling pattern involving political statements and security incidents. Fayose also referenced comments allegedly made by an associate of the FCT minister regarding the kidnapping case.

“Add 1 plus 1 plus 2 plus the dates, add it together. Wike’s boy came out on national tele to say maybe it’s Governor Makinde that arranged the kidnapping. Are you following this story very well? So that means, how can they even think that deep?” he stated.

The commentator also drew comparisons with Rivers State during Wike’s tenure as governor, alleging that kidnapping cases were widespread at the time.

“That same Rivers State, when Wike was Governor, the kidnapping there passed the whole kidnapping within Nigeria at the time. Think, think, these politicians, they can do and undo,” Fayose claimed.

Expressing concern over the situation, Fayose urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and not dismiss alleged threats, particularly at a time when children and teachers have become victims of violent crimes.

“Nigerians, we have to shine our eyes, we have to shine our eyes well well. If to say we dey country where law dey work, I’m sure DSS or police for don call Wike now for questioning,” he added.
