A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a couple, Lamidi Salau, 67, and Lamidi Aina, 65, over their alleged involvement in the k!lling of a 25-year-old housewife, Kehinde Omize.
NEWSUNPLUG reported that Kehinde was hacked to d3ath by her husband, a meat seller identified as Sadiq Ibrahim, (pictured) during a domestic dispute in the Dalimore area of Ado-Ekiti.
The suspect, popularly known as Alfa Eleran, who is currently at large, attacked his wife with a machete during a heated argument while family friends were attempting to resolve their marital issue.
The two defendants were remanded at the Correctional Facility in Ado-Ekiti over allegations of conspiracy to m8rder and m8rder.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that there was probable cause to order the remand of the two defendants and the deceased’s husband, who is currently at large, over their alleged involvement in the offences of conspiracy and m8rder of Kehinde Omize.
ASP Oriyomi said the offences are punishable under Sections 244 and 234 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti 2021, respectively, and were allegedly committed within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District on September 9, 2026
The pleas of the defendants were not taken. However, they were represented in court.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the application and ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Correctional Facility in Ado-Ekiti.
The case was adjourned until October 9, 2026, for mention.
