Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai appeared at the Federal High Court in Kawo, Kaduna, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, following an earlier appearance at the Kaduna State High Court.

The Federal Court session relates to a separate case brought against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

El-Rufai had previously been granted temporary release by the ICPC on compassionate grounds to attend his mother’s burial.

The court has adjourned the hearing of his bail application till Wednesday, April 1.

Counsel to the former governor, Ukpong Abang (SAN), declined detailed comments on the proceedings and confirmed the development shortly after the court session.

“I’m sorry, I can’t talk now, we are in the middle of work. I have to go and file responses. The hearing of the bail application has been adjourned till tomorrow,” he said.

El-Rufai was subsequently taken away from the court premises by operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in a white Hilux vehicle.
