It is undoubtedly a tough time for Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna, as they laid his best friend of over a decade, Alex Ekubo, to rest.
Newsunplug reported on Wednesday that the actor’s body had arrived at his father’s compound at Arochukwu, Abia State. A Wake-keep was held for him, with Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, Mike Godson, Omoni Oboli, Ayo Makun, and many others in attendance.
On Thursday, June 18th, the actor was finally laid to rest amidst tears.
In a video from the funeral, while the family of the late actor was performing dust to dust, ashes to ashes on his grave, IK couldn’t hold himself back as he broke down in tears. He was seen bringing out his handkerchief as he wiped away his tears.
Refreshing your memory, news broke out last month that the light-skinned actor had passed away on Monday, May 11th, after a battle with Cancer and was 40 years old.
On Wednesday, June 10th, a Service of Songs was held for the actor at the Monarch Event Centre, Lekki. As expected, many celebrities attended the event to honour the late actor.
Alex and IK shared a close friendship and were known as brothers in the industry. It is undoubtedly that the death of Alex is a painful one for IK Ogbonna.
Sometime back, Alex called out IK Ogbonna over his supposed fake lifestyle that cost him his visa. Alex urged his friend to be himself, whether online or offline.
In response to Alex’s rants, IK warned him not to mess with him as his day had already started on the wrong note.
