Premier League icon, Alan Shearer has forecast Pep Guardiola’s forthcoming position as the Spaniard prepares to depart from Manchester City this summer.

Shearer is of the opinion that the ex-Barcelona manager will transition into international management as his next endeavor.

The final Premier League match of the season against Aston Villa on Sunday is increasingly anticipated to be the Spaniard’s last game in charge after a decade of leadership.

Shearer suggests that it may take some time before Guardiola resumes management duties.

The 55-year-old has previously been associated with the Brazil national team position, and the former England captain believes that international management could be a fitting role for Guardiola following ten years of relentless pressure and achievement at City.

He remarked to Betfair, “What lies ahead for Pep Guardiola after City? A break! I believe it will resemble what we have observed in the past; he might take a year off and then return revitalized and ready to go again.

“I can envision him leading an international team; I won’t claim it’s less demanding, but perhaps it won’t be as intense, presenting a different challenge for him.”

It has been widely reported that former Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca is set to succeed him at the Etihad Stadium.
