Arsenal midfielder, Eberechi Eze, has named the toughest player he has come up against as a footballer.

Speaking on Adebayo Akinfenwa’s podcast, Eze described former Manchester City playmaker De Bruyne as a high level thinker.

The 27-year-old came up against De Bruyne during his time at Crystal Palace.

Eze has now claimed that De Bruyne was a “special” player who had solutions to every problem presented to him on the pitch.

“I’m gonna [Kevin] De Bruyne, [was the toughest opponent] you know,” Eze said.

“To play the way he was playing, to do the things that he was doing for that amount of time, yeah, not easy. You can tell that he’s a high-level thinker.

“These are the type of players I’ve looked up to from young, so definitely a special player.
