Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has confirmed that Gabriel will be out for “weeks”.

Gabriel picked up a thigh problem while playing for Brazil during the international break.

The 27-year-old limped off against Senegal and Arteta has described it as a “blow”.

Gabriel is set to miss the game against Tottenham, as well as the fixtures with Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

Arteta said: “Gabi unfortunately picked up an injury with the national team. He will be out for weeks.

“We need to have another scan next Wednesday.

“It’s clearly a blow., It’s our leader in our backline. To miss him is never a positive thing. The good thing is we have some very good options. They need to stand up now.”
