Arsenal legend Paul Merson has ruled out any possibility of Manchester United being relegated to the Championship this season.
Man United currently sit in 17th place in the Premier League table after nine matches played so far.
The Red Devils have the same points as Crystal Palace, who sit in the relegation zone (18th position) because of a lower goal difference.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said, “Manchester United play Coventry on the 5th of December, and I would be shocked if they aren’t in the bottom three on the Premier League table by then.
“But I don’t see them getting relegated, absolutely not. I don’t know where everyone expects them to be.”
Man United finished in the Premier League top four last season, under manager Michael Carrick, and qualified for this season’s UEFA Champions League.
