Ex-England striker, Michael Owen, claims that Liverpool and Manchester City are the two teams that would have stopped Arsenal from winning the Premier League title this season.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Owen said that the two rivals have “semi-handed it” to Mikel Arteta’s men.

City currently sitting in second place on the table, six points behind the Gunners.

The Reds, who won the title with 10 points last term, are further down in sixth place and 14 points behind.

This Sunday, Liverpool will play Manchester City at Anfield, and one of them is expected to lose points.

Owen said: “I think the only teams that could have beaten them at the start of the season were Liverpool and Manchester City, who are clearly not performing as well as before.

“So I think Arsenal will definitely win the title, but they’ve been given an advantage.”
