Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has explained he is selecting Savinho ahead of Jack Grealish.

Savinho has started the last two matches ahead of Grealish.

Following City’s 4-1 win over West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday, which saw Savinho lay on three assists, Guardiola has said the Brazilian is in “better shape and everything” than Grealish.

Guardiola also suggested the England international may not be giving his “best” at present.

“Does anyone think Savinho doesn’t deserve to play? No. He deserves [it]. That’s why I play him because he produces.

“As much as he looks at himself, he will see the competition and he has to compete, himself.

“Savinho is in better shape and everything than Jack and that’s why I played Savinho,” Guardiola said.
