Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has insisted Manchester City have the edge in the Premier League title race despite Arsenal’s best efforts.

The Gunners beat Newcastle 1-0 on Sunday to move within three points of City, who have a game in hand.

In Scholes’ opinion, Pep Guardiola’s experience and mentality will see them edge Arsenal again.

He said: “All eyes are on Arsenal in this title race, and to be fair, they’re giving everything.

“They’ve pushed it all the way and stayed right in the fight with Manchester City.

“But when it gets to this stage, the small details decide everything.

“City have the experience, the mentality, and a serial winner in Pep Guardiola who knows exactly how to close out a title race.

“With Arsenal, there are still questions. Do they have enough firepower? Do they have that ruthless edge in the final moments when it matters most? Because that’s what separates contenders from champions.”
