Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised two Blues players ahead of their Premier League clash with Wolves on Saturday.

Pochettino said that the likes of Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo are now “performing very well” under current manager Enzo Maresca.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain coach endured a turbulent single season at Stamford Bridge. During his tenure, Chelsea signed players such as Caicedo and Fernández for him.

Speaking  about his time at Chelsea, Pochettino said: “We both decided to split. I think my first season was about to stop a little bit.

“The plan was to build with new players, with players that had no experience in the Premier League.

“And then players that need to adapt, like Caicedo or Enzo, who were very young with too much responsibility from the first season.

“I think after they got experience, they started to show their quality. They are performing very well now.”
