Former England goalkeeper, Shay Given, has picked Arsenal as the strongest team in the Premier League this season.

He, however, believes that Manchester City are strong title contenders.

He said this season is a three-way race involving Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City.

All the teams mentioned have lost one or two matches already this season.

But Liverpool remain top on the league table with two points ahead of second-place Arsenal, while Manchester City are five points behind the leaders, down in seventh.

Given, a former Manchester City goalkeeper, has refused to write off his former club just yet.

“You can’t rule Manchester City out of the title race this early in the season,” Given told Ladbrokes.

“That’s probably because of Arsenal and Liverpool, and the squads they’ve built over the last few years.

“Everyone is talking about Arsenal and Liverpool.

“I do think they[Man City] will be in for a great shout at the end of the season in the title race, I really do.

Given, however, feels Arsenal are strongest placed to become champions.

“It’s difficult to say who wins it at this moment in time…

“I suppose as I sit here right now, if I look at every squad in the cold light of day, then I’d say Arsenal are the ones to beat.”
