Rangers Forward, Cyriel Dessers has urged his teammates to brace up for a difficult test against Malmo.

The Light Blues will kick-start their UEFA Europa League campaign against the reigning Allsvenskan champions on Thursday (today).

Malmo, currently eight points clear at the top of the Swedish league, boasts a strong record against Scottish clubs, with just one defeat in their last eight meetings dating back to 2011.

Philippe Clement’s side, however, head into the game in a buoyant mood following last Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Dundee.

Dessers believed the win over Dundee would give his side a big boost going into the game.

‘Malmo away is not an easy start, but these are the games you want to play when you’re playing in Europe,” Dessers said ahead of the game.

“I think (the win over Dundee) can give us some confidence, a boost, and hopefully we can have a good performance there as well and hopefully win.’
