Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has spoken out following criticism over her post about TTC mothers.
In a statement on her Instagram page, she said everyone is entitled to tell their story, and she shared hers to avoid anyone explaining her experience for her. Bimpe said what she has learned is that kindness should never be assumed on behalf of someone else.
Bimpe said it is hurtful to hear what women are going through, and she urged the public to do better.
“As we step into a new month, I want to say:
Everyone is entitled to tell their story.
When I shared mine, I didn’t do it so anyone can explain my experience for me. I lived it.
One thing I’veearbed is that kindness should never be assumed on behalf of someone else. It hurts to hear what women are going through; my DMs are full.
Please, let’s do better.
Invite people.
Call them.
Include them.
Then allow them to decide what they can and can handle.
We don’t always know what someone is carrying, but we can always choose compassion, inclusion, and thoughtfulness.
This new month, may we stop deciding what people can handle and start giving them the dignity of choice.
And for anyone walking through a difficult season. I hope you never have to question whether you belong in the room”.
