Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is set to deliver a sermon at Lambeth Palace on Thursday, March 19, as part of the programme accompanying President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing state visit to the United Kingdom.

Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury and a key centre of the Church of England, will host the event, underscoring the religious and diplomatic dimensions of the visit. According to an itinerary released by Agence France-Presse, the First Lady is also expected to meet with representatives of the Church of England during her time in London.

The state visit marks Nigeria’s first such official engagement with the United Kingdom in nearly 40 years and is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations across political, economic and cultural fronts.

President Tinubu and the First Lady arrived in London on Tuesday via Stansted Airport, beginning a schedule of high-level engagements that includes meetings with King Charles III and Keir Starmer, alongside interactions with members of the Nigerian diaspora.

Mrs Tinubu is an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
