Nollywood actor Lawayne has alleged that late actors Francis Duru and Amaechi Muonagor told him they had been poisoned at different times while working on movie locations.
Lawayne made the claims in a video, recounting conversations he said he had with both actors while they were battling health challenges.
The actor claimed that Duru confided in him about the cause of his illness when they worked together on a movie set several years ago.
According to Lawayne, Muonagor also shared a similar account with him during the same period.
Lawayne recounts alleged conversations with late actors
Speaking in the video, Lawayne said Duru had told him that he believed his illness resulted from poisoning at a movie location.
He also alleged that Muonagor separately told him he had been poisoned while working on a film set.
Lawayne said he was working with Duru at the time and recalled that both actors had opened up to him about their respective experiences.
He further claimed that Duru had described how he sometimes struggled with his health after eating on a movie location.
Actor speaks on Nollywood rivalry
Lawayne also alleged that envy and jealousy were prevalent in the Nigerian film industry, suggesting that such issues could be connected to the experiences he described.
He said he had recently contacted Duru, who allegedly told him that his health problems had returned.
According to Lawayne, he was unable to do much to help the late actor at the time.
The actor warned that he intended to speak publicly about what he described as troubling issues within Nollywood, promising to make further revelations.
No independent evidence presented
Lawayne’s statements remain allegations, and no independent evidence was presented in the video to establish that either Duru or Muonagor was poisoned.
The claims have not been independently verified, and it remains unclear whether the actors’ illnesses were linked to poisoning.
Francis Duru and Amaechi Muonagor were both known for their contributions to Nollywood. Their deaths prompted tributes from colleagues and fans across the entertainment industry.
