Nigerian socialite and entrepreneur Shina Peller has captured social media attention after he unexpectedly rewarded a police officer with ₦200,000 for a simple act of kindness.
A viral video shows Peller playfully asking an on-duty officer, later identified as Mr. Isaac, if he could spare him some cash. Without hesitation, Isaac reached into his pocket and handed Peller a ₦500 note, saying it came “from the heart.”
Moved by the gesture, Peller commended the officer for challenging the common belief that police only demand bribes. He immediately requested the officer’s account details and transferred ₦200,000 on the spot, praising him as an example of integrity worth celebrating.
Peller explained that Nigerians often focus on negative encounters with law enforcement, while genuine acts of goodwill rarely get attention. “Everyone talks about the bad side of the police,” he said in the clip. “But here’s an officer who gave me ₦500. Thank you, I love you, sir. I’ll double it for you.”
The uplifting exchange has sparked widespread reactions online, with many hailing it as a refreshing reminder that positive interactions between citizens and police officers are possible.
